HV Cable Termination Repair at Barclays Innovation Centre, Knutsford

Northern HV was appointed to carry out essential high voltage cable repairs at the Barclays Innovation Centre in Knutsford following the need to replace a damaged section of cable between the Ring Main Unit (RMU) and transformer.

During the project, our engineers also identified a second cable that required remedial work due to an issue with the original installation. Both repairs were completed as part of the works, ensuring the integrity of the high voltage network before it was returned to service.

Our engineers completed the replacement of the affected HV cable, installed new HV cable terminations where required and carried out comprehensive testing to ensure the installation was safe and ready for service.

Correctly installed and tested cable terminations are essential to the long-term reliability of any high voltage network. Our experienced engineers completed both the planned cable replacement and the additional remedial repair before undertaking comprehensive VLF testing to verify the integrity of the installations.

By identifying and rectifying the incorrectly installed cable during the project, Northern HV helped ensure the network met the required standards before being safely prepared for energisation.

The project was completed efficiently, with the defective cable replaced, the incorrectly installed cable repaired and new HV terminations installed where required. Comprehensive VLF testing confirmed the integrity of the completed works, allowing the high voltage system to be safely prepared for energisation.
